Forum – Postural management comments
Response on behalf of the Manchester Cerebral Palsy (CP) Network by Anne Ferguson
The Manchester CP Network welcomes the consensus statement on postural management for children with CP. The pathways in preparation by the network are based on current evidence in line with the consensus statement.
It is helpful to have such a statement to support the work of the network.
The Manchester CP Network has been meeting for the last year. Representatives from therapy services, orthopaedics, neurology, paediatrics and gait laboratories across the Greater Manchester PCT areas have been attending and presenting at bi-monthly meetings.
Topics discussed so far include:
- Hip pathway and pathway for communication around surgical management
- 24 hour postural management
- Gait analysis and referral pathway
- Botulinum toxin and referral/management pathway
